Where Matter Meets Memory
Antonella Quacchia is a contemporary visual artist whose work explores the boundaries between matter, colour and the unseen forces that shape our world.
My journey began in the Italian city of Gorizia, in the shadow of a Wall that symbolized the Iron Curtain. From those border roots, life unfolded through an ocean crossing to Brazil, a new family, and the constant navigation of inner and external borders. This past, marked by migration and the rigor of a scientific career, allows me to perceive reality through multiple lenses: an invitation I extend to every spectator.
Today, between Vienna and Barcelona, this global heritage is translated into visual art. The artwork is not a mere surface, but a celebration of life lived across diverse cultures: an alchemy where technical precision from a scientific background meets the luminous, unpredictable soul of matter.
